BACKGROUND
Essilor is one of the leading experts in everything vision-related. Their eye care professionals are equipped with top-tier eye health knowledge. However, this information is not the simplest to explain to shoppers to understand.
" My patients' attention span is generally short in-store.
They need to understand their eye health conditions very quickly & easily so that I can recommend them the best lens solutions for their lifestyle."

USER INTERVIEWS
To better understand this, my team and I interviewed ECPs to find out more about how they and their patients behave and the challenges they face.
AFFINITY MAPPING
Through affinity mapping, the information collected from the user interviews to find out how they behave and the challenges they faced.
KEY FINDINGS
ECPs have many tools from various brands to explain technical concepts but they prefer 1 concise tool to house everything in for a better explanation experience.
Cost is highly relative to the purchase decision. However, there need to be great health benefits to back up that. Hence, benefits and prices need key information explained.
Time is of the essence. Patients/shoppers do not have a lot of time so the full process -> Eye test > eye health explanation > choice of lens and frames have to be done as efficiently as possible.
DEFINE PROBLEM
After compiling the key insights from the user interviews (i.e. The Eye care professionals), I created the persona to help in defining the problem and hence the solution.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Eye care professionals need one central easy-to-use tool so that they can recommend the best lens solution to their patients based on their lifestyle more efficiently.
So how might we help eye care professionals track, and record their patients' eye health efficiently while recommending the most suitable lens for their needs?
SOLUTION STATEMENT
We believe that by creating a tablet app for ECPs to save all patients' data while including simple visualisations allows them to bring the patient through an intuitive lifestyle quiz, will lead to relevant solutions tailored to the needs of the consumer and their lifestyle.
